Private Drum Lessons
For more than two decades, I have dedicated my life to teaching drummers of all levels around the world, helping them unlock their highest potential through focused, results-driven instruction. As a professor at The Juilliard School and The New School, I bring the same world-class standards and professional insight from the stage and classroom directly into every lesson. My students have gone on to be accepted into top conservatories, universities, and leading jazz programs across the globe, while others have won major awards and built thriving careers as performers, educators, and creators.
I often describe myself as the “urgent care drum teacher” because I specialize in identifying the core issues holding drummers back and eliminating them instantly through proven, practical methods. My teaching emphasizes building elite technique, true limb independence, a deep and dependable sense of time that makes other musicians want to hire you, and the musicality required to move beyond mechanics into artistry. Every lesson is rooted in the jazz tradition and the wisdom of the master drummers who shaped the art form, while also preparing students to succeed in today’s diverse musical world.
