The Ulysses Owens Jr. Global Drum Intensive continues to build its international impact, with successful 2026 programs in Shanghai, August 14–18, and Beijing, August 24–28, producing incredible growth and results for participating students.

In partnership with Cashell Music, Grammy-winning drummer, educator, and bandleader Ulysses Owens Jr. developed a specialized curriculum designed to meet the unique needs of Chinese students seeking admission to leading American conservatories and university jazz programs. Through intensive private instruction, ensemble performance, masterclasses, audition preparation, mentorship, and individualized artistic development, students gained the musical tools, confidence, and preparation needed to compete at the highest level.

More than a drum camp, the Global Drum Intensive is an international training and mentorship experience, connecting serious young musicians with world-class education while helping them navigate the path from developing artist to successful conservatory applicant and professional musician.

Following the success of the Shanghai and Beijing programs, the Global Drum Intensive will continue its presence in China, and Rome Italy in 2027, furthering its mission of developing the next generation of drummers and musicians around the world.
